| The dramatic ruins of Furness Abbey are beautifully set in the "Vale of Deadly Nightshade". This green, leafy valley encloses the warm red sandstone walls and arches of this ancient abbey. The museum houses an exhibition "Carved in Stone" with many fine examples of stone work from the abbey, including effigies of medieval knights. Admission includes a free audio tour. |
